Yeah but Fires Within Fires is pretty solid throughout, even if it touches on nothing new. The pacing is good and the songs don't really sprawl and stretch out like they used to but there is an immediacy to it that's pretty strong.

perhaps a revisit could be in order but yeah I was never really a fan of their final two albums to be fair, only real blemish in their whole discog though unless I’m being ultra-critical

Yeah just jam the last two and realize that they aren't going to hit you like A Sun That Never Sets or Given to the Rising etc

I called this duller than Sleep Token which is pretty unfair but kinda accurate
|
| |
a monochrome image of a rock is duller than slow motion video of a car crash shot in 4k as a condiment commercial yep

everytime Unconformities plays I think I'm about to listen to Chop Suey.... it's still my favourite track on this though

randomly shoehorning Chop Suey into a random part of this track-listing would improve it by 13%

The three song run from from Atlantic through Unconformities is my favorite so far. Those songs are immense.
|
| |
Second half is definitely more impactful than the first.
