I think people here were too bought into the "metalcore is stagnant and overpopulated" thinking and ABR were the face of it for whatever reason.

Also Leveler t/t is like top 5 ABR for me

every old metalcore review started with a fingerwagging intro about the roots of the genre lol. it's so funny. just reads like self parody now.

Basically metalcore wasn't worth a shit to the enlightened Sputter back in the day unless you were Botch or Converge lol

I have tried to get into Leveler but always found it boring for some reason. If you look at it from a distance it should just be same-old-same-old. Songs just don't hit the same as they do on other records, not sure why.

Couldn’t disagree more To be honest lol but to each their own. I do remember when Poor Millionaire dropped as a single everyone loved it. And then shit on the album lol

The Nameless is a pretty good song though. It gets really heavy towards the end and the production helps quite a bit there.

I love it. I miss when they go heavy I feel like they mostly abandoned it. It’s why I like Bloodletter so much too

Man, this new album is shaping up to be a disappointment for me. I don't really like any of the singles. I dig The Nameless a bit but that's it. I miss JB's riffs and odd time signature like in Thrill Seeker through Found in Far Away Places.

Leveler just came after Constellations so I think most people saw it as a step back after that even though they had a pretty great streak up to maybe Phantom Anthem?
