Album Rating: 3.5
listening to this occasionally over the past few weeks has changed my opinion in a positive way and I think this might be a slightly better record than City Burials.

nice

i think the problem of radiohead will diminish once there are fewer people who were still growing up when any of their albums released
|
| |
what if that is the problem
|
| |
then they are not a classic band and will go in this history bin
floyd and beethoven could survive an anachronistic audience so
|
| |
Jesus Christ Johnny needs a radiohead intervention
|
| |
i dont think that a prevailing dismissive attitude of gen z towards classic rock music negates the classic music's classic status
also what kind of sample size are we workin with here because i think it should be bigger than ryus and purplespartan and the like 4 or 5 millenials on the site that dish on the bends???
|
| |
is that like a baby shower in a bunker
|
| |
thom, we figured out who's in the bunker you can rest easy now!
|
| |
I would rather jam the bends than most classic rock despite the bends being terrible
|
| |
real talk, i feel the the appeal of Radiohead's 90s rock output that isn't OK Computer is specific enough to the 90s (/people nostalgic for the zitgeist) that you'd call it a generational classic whereas actual 'classic rock' a la Zeppelin Floyd Dire Straits and whatever yank shite has found a new audience over and over
to which end i think the intergenerational appeal of literally everything else Radiohead has done actually speaks volumes if we're gonna bandy the C-word around
|
| |
90s Radiohead is not classic rock agreed
|
| |
it is geek Oasis and can remain as such forevermore
|
| |
Oasis is geek oasis
|
| |
i use a more broad understanding of the term because tbh the origin of the term classic rock and the rather narrow style of music it describes is pretty wrapped up in war propaganda from the 70s
|
| |
oasis is geek oasis [2]
|
| |
radiohead is geek beatles come on johnny this was decided a long time ago
|
| |
oasis is beer head national treasure it cannot be geek
radiohead is incomparable to the beatles you cannot get chatgbt to generate an entertaining true life dialogue involving every single member people would cry and expire if this was attempted
