new album is probably the least sputnikmusic.com friendly thing this band could have made in 2025 but i enjoyed it for what it was

altho i have to use my audio engineering degree to trim down at least half the tracks which lmfao. dropped these songs in audacity and shaved all the bullshit radio rock tropes away, insert aaron trim the fat joke here

and then there was nothing is heat though

Haha pretty spot-on. I thought it decent too, but doubt I’ll revisit it too often. I would actually say Voyeurist is the stronger album of the two.

I only feel like it was decent in a way that it's passable "radio" rock but the choruses really ruined nearly every song and the lyrics are too bad to ignore. Agree with Jay that Loss was a good one. And Then There Was Nothing was cool too. What's really frustrating is you can hear the potential in nearly every song but they ultimately are booty flakes.

my biggest issue with the new one is its mastering/mixing - whoever is at fault for that overblown overcompressed mess of a mix, why the hell are you getting your production cues from Death Magnetic? Loudness war strikes again with a really severe victim.

it's a crying shame we don't have guitar hero mix stems to unfuck the mastering on this like they did for Death Magnetic because other than that I really am into this weird industrial version of Underoath

New album sucks but I'm not sure it's as bad as this. I think it's good they're embracing the more pop direction but it all comes off generic compared to their peers. Lyrics really blow

For me voyeurist is def better which is saying a good deal. New one feels less like them mixing it up and more that they just don’t have an identity anymore. It makes me sad.

Nah this new one is the most inspired of their comeback albums. Unfortunately that's not saying much when the bar is already so low and others are doing the style they're going for better
