The Offspring...unplugged
Pretty Fly for a White guy...unplugged
could be a new low, would probably take the Limp Bizkit punch over that

You’re onto something there!

@keaton
To be fair, everything is deadly serious when you're 14. If it's not a really blatantly obvious meme/joke, it is taken seriously by default. So everyone may have just been too young to see the irony in Limp Bizkit (though I doubt it...they weren't really going for irony back then in my opinion.)

I dunno, my friends that were all about 13 at the just thought it was funny and stupid. I mean the last song is ben stiller laughing for ages.

DatsNotDaMetulz > you've changed the alternate RMV tracklisting a bit since your 2020 comment I see!
|

Yeah, I'm pretty sure limp bizkit took themselves seriously back then because that's what was popular then. All the nu metal bands were doing that cringy shit

I liked it. I think hard songs were really cool, but "ballads" dragged the feeling down. If they would write some actual songs in the same style, instead of these 1:30 min tracks they could drop a very good album

good album. a little uneven with most of the bangers being in the first half, but there's a lot to love here. if they paced the tracklist better and fleshed out some of the shorter ideas, this couldve been great
|
| |
boring ass record tbh
|
| |
bizkit are hilarious and its fun to have fun but i think the memes gone a bit too far. but these guys have always been my fav nu-metal band just because it IS funny. linkin park, POD, mudvayne, all that shit was so up its own ass. i think fred durst is performance art. but like others have noted, this is a bit too self aware and memey, it sounds like all their old shit except theyre all 50 now and boring
|
| |
i mean in the grand scheme of things this band has like 6 or 7 listenable, reliably funny songs that get people laughing at a party or something, but when i look at stuff like unquestionable truth where its like fred trying to warn us about the illuminati and shit, im like damn maybe the boomers were right
|
| |
i have enough friends who unironically love this band that i would probably end up seeing them should they ever play atlanta. i got friends who will go see bizkit with me but virtually nobody who will tag along to a metal show
