I mean I like that they did it. I just have to find something objectionable with every neeka comment

"Fewer Afraid" still knocks me out every time, maybe the best song they've ever done

I wish the lass on vocals had more prominence in the album, she's really good.

ending of fewer afraid is still lowkey insulting to getting sodas. proper homage could've made it their best song. the mount hum reference was far more tasteful and i guess that works out for me cuz that's my fave song by them

I go back and forth on the Getting Sodas homage. It does feel shoehorned in and just doesn't have the melodic vibrancy it needs. But, it does kind of work as well. In Getting Sodas it was a hopeful declaration, eight fucked up years later it's here as almost a weary mantra. If that's what was intended, that really emotionally fits and resonates.

I'd respect that.

Still I keep thinking of ways it could've been improved. maybe a halftime feel instead? a bigger gang effect like the original? maybe it's the instrumental that needs changing as well. gahhh so many what if's. oh well. at least the part right before it exists.

Trouble could have been a flawless song but the transition back into the slow part is so poorly done

I probably should’ve have checked the similar artists rather than the tags…

‘post-rock/emo’ is so potentially misleading… I knew it must’ve progged, but didn’t expect it to be quite so timid/clean.

There’s no credible list of best albums of the year that doesn’t have this behemoth on it

Well that’s what they were. And the final tracks certainly have those remnants but now they’re different
