I’m saying I’d atom bomb Nephi and take a horse or two with it I don’t give a flying fudge about Mr Flowers really, find his voxals mostly airbrushed n’ personality free

Band live or die by the tunes

The 2.5 rating should make it read a bit less dramatic - album is fine, Fender has a bit more fire in the belly for me, has some potential

Giving it a 4 for now might end up a 3.5

All y'all CanadiUklians, stop appropriating American trailer park culture!! Ur not allowed to talk about this album unless you know a guy named Cletus who died in a hooch fire trying to break into the trailer where his uncle lives with his middle school gf

I won't have you talkin ill bout 'ol wesley's grandpappy like that. He worked hard for his kids, all eleven of them. Cletus had gumption, was a good soul, and he's with the man upstairs now.

Dagnabbit, bless your heart and listen 'ere, Cletus and Maribelle tried done right by the young'uns I know, every time they cheat on each other with each other's sisses and brothers they come back and yell it out in the front yard but once Rebel moved down the other side the park with that no good Randy acting like one of them metrosexshuls thinkin he's better than the rest of us wonder if Cletus ain't better off where he is now, and Maribelle too for that matter

I want to like this and ig I kinda do but at the end of the day Brandon Flowers just doesn't have the voice for this kind of material imo, I can hear him straining to be more gruff and Springsteen-y, and even though a lot of the lyrics ring true it just sounds like such a blatant put-on

I feel this criticism but the songwriting's strong enough that it's not too much of point off the album for me

Still hovering near the top of my 2021 list, totally changed my outlook on what The Killers are capable of
