“ Speak for yourself.”
If you’re that arrogant then I can’t help lol

Struggling to see the arrogance in not thinking I'm so stupid or that everyone here is so stupid that we can't talk about serious issues sometimes. If you don't think you're smart enough to engage then don't, that's your problem.

I interpreted it as we can try to inform our opinions as much as possible and have a right to voice them, but would be naive not to recognise that we’re always working with pseudo facts filtered through our self serving biases, so we ought to operate with the assumptions that we’re fallible and don’t actually know very much concretely about anything.

It’s Halloween time so back to bumping this band. Shit still rules.
Can anyone recommend bands similar to this? I’ve checked his other bands, they mostly don’t scratch the same itch.

I would say the last Altar of Plagues album possibly, or Thantifaxath can be quite nightmarish but neither quite the same kind of fever-dream horror movie jangle

Damn sad. This is so good and unique for me

Yeah this band is interesting because they sit in that suspense-zone for like the entire song. All the chord progressions are about building suspense and a sense of fear or dread - which is one feeling black metal can give you, but not many bands like fully lean into it as much as them. I can’t really think of any others. It’s like continuous edge of your seat vibes, it does get a bit fatiguing after a few spins of an album but it’s a good hit when you feel like it

Thinking about it now, I would say Thantifaxath are the closest for me. They’ve got a very suspenseful sound, and super weird and freaky vibe

^Sacred White Noise is an excellent album

I don’t know if it’ll scratch the Akhlys itch, but maybe Oranssi Pazuzu’s “Värähtelijä” will appeal

^ yeha I agree with that oranssi rec, it’s got a lot of suspense. I have to say as well, Akhlys’ sound is very manufactured and artificial sounding. It’s super cool, but it’s very put-together. Kind of like post-nothing meshuggah I guess. Akhlys do pull it off live though but they must be a nightmare for sound-guys

Other than Altar I’ve heard all these bands and albums and it’s just not the same.
I guess this is all 😞
But at least we have this 🤠

Agree, I take this two tracks a time. I blame my own weakness though.
