This is a beautiful monster of a review. Very well written. I love how wordy and intelligent you can describe music without sounding over indulgent, and you don't come off as smug or full of yourself in your writing. A lot of times when some ppl try to write like this, it looks and sounds like they just went to the thesaurus and started clicking for fancier sounding words, but I haven't ever thought that about your reviews
I think this is gonna be in the 4 range for me. Very good stuff. Might have to save it for bandcamp friday next month

Out of curiosity, how long does it generally take you to go from first time hearing something to being able to click the submit button when writing a review?

I usually listen to an album at least three to five times. When I'm writing about it, I also listen to it to get into the right mindset, which boosts those plays up. Individual songs that stand out/ones I want to mention for whatever reason also get played a lot in isolation.
Very much depends on the album, however. Some click immediately and I know exactly what to write. Others are a lot more tricky to figure out.

I don't know if I'll have a future in this field. That being said, I still enjoy reviewing and I'm conscientious of the fact that this is some nice resume building stuff.
Of course, if I COULD be paid to write, that'd be a dream come true. I just don't think I'd be able to find a reviewing niche that'd pay enough to justify it. Time will tell! I live pretty minimalistic, so I don't need a big salary or anything.
