Its at least a strong 4, maybe 4.5. I kind of agree with rowan that it felt like it could've used more really solid hooks

Nope, this is a 5. It is like White Pony and requires multiple listens. AOTY.

Regardless of how much this album sticks with me compared to other Deftones albums, it's honestly just fucking awesome to hear this band firing on all cylinders again

Radiant City and T/t are the standouts but this thing is consistent as fuck

also thank god they finally gave Vega something interesting to do, the bass parts add so much here

This has the best production of any album since White Pony at least

"TLID is weakest song on here by a country mile and a half"

You must be joking. Top 3 easy.

i kinda agree that this isnt very hooky and that chinos melodies are the least memorable part of this, which isnt really a problem bc they arent bad by any means and musically these songs are all very strong but it does prevent me from putting this up w their best work (around the fur through snw being their golden period). that said, i like this way more than their last 3 so im really really happy with it and will continue to loop the shit out of it

I think Carpenter using a 9-string forced Terry Date to learn how to produce a guitar tone with actual mids in it lol
