For sure. It works incredibly well. So effectively put together.

Well, less about the average because honestly, when it comes down to it, who really cares.
More that some people will think this is way more mainstream/accessible than it actually is, and sort of get a bad taste in their mouth about Paysage in general. No question this style of production is something of an aquired taste (took me literally years to get into) and it's just kind of a shame that people won't get past it simply because of how unprepared they were for it.
Look at Pots. He managed to stick it out and ended up enjoying this quite a bit, but lots of other people won't give this the second or third chance it really deserves, and might need in order for them to really get into it.

I generally like BM with this production and atmosphere but I'm not sure if it's varied enough to really justify its 2 hours. that being said, I've managed 70 mins so far and this clearly needs like 5 listens to get so i dont know just yet

I left when the cheesy keyboard in "Im Winterwald" appeared. Why..? Sounds ridiculous.

Alright final thoughts:
Not enough happening over 2 hours and just doesn't have enough ideas or variation in its structure to make it interesting. Granted, BM doesnt need to because it can rely on atmosphere but the atmosphere here is also quite drab too. If it's gonna go on for so long, at least make it crushing and make me feel tiny in an endless, dark forest.
It's not bad, but this has all the most dull qualities of BM stretched out past its welcome and none of the genre's best qualities
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go jam darkspace

Uh oh, that's not a good sign, haha
I'm sure this is good, though.

lol it's not as clear (see: sterile) as Schnee IV but everything is decipherable. soft production with good headspace and layering. some are obvious (the choirs on Stimmen, for instance) while other things rise from the mix after several listens. you'll want a stereo sound source like headphones or monitors to appreciate it, and like Snide found out, don't feel the need to crank the volume.
