"hyperbolic praise"

I don't know man, this album is just a massive 5.0; worthy of all the hyperbole if you ask me. I suppose whether one considers something hyperbolic is relative to one's own perspective. I for one would consider my earlier comment to be rather apposite.

I’m ready to say this is superior to Vertikal and I love me some Vertikal. This appears to be the more consistent release.

Two tracks in and I already pretty much know I'm hearing my AOTY. These guys are leagues ahead of almost anyone else in the post-metal game now.

THAT riff in Lay Your Head To Rest is just colossal

In some abstract philosophical sense, everything is.

Nightwalker has got me shaking my head in disbelief. When the hi-hats come in during that mid-section it's the absolute coolest bloody thing. This entire track is a work of goddamn art

Their use of melody and repetition is still absolutely outstanding

I suppose CoL alongside The Ocean Collective and Amenra have been creating the best Post-metal in the last three years or so.

Just jammed Salvation and Highway back to back and yup yup this band is still as good as it gets. Getting ready to jump into this.

@Arch: highlight of the album for me, the song itself and the specific section you referenced. The album from the t/t through to the finish is almost perfect, but that’s my stand out moment so far, if I had to pick one.

I'm really hoping this holds up on repeated listens (though tbf every single album so far has done so staggeringly well) cos opening thoughts are that if this is the last classic I hear this decade then it's a fucking good way to go out
