Picture Me Better is good tbh, but the album runs out of good melodies pretty quickly after the first two (three if you *really* love the 60s) tracks. Picture Me is probably the best downbeat track, so suffers less from this

I think I asked this before, but don't think I got an answer? How did this blow up? Did she have songs in a movie or tv show? This has about 10k more ratings on RYM than anything she put out before it.

People really caught on to the singles so it had a lot of pre-release hype and then when it dropped it was at or near the top of the RYM 2019 list so it got a lot of traction there due to that.

How the fuck do you dislike Movies

Also yeah, the singles were really well received so a lot of people were anticipating this release, plus all the hype of people saying its their favorite album of the year makes other people want to listen

Idk I heard this twice and don't remember much, let alone the singles. Was just curious what I missed because that's a HUGE jump in ratings without any mainstream exposure.

I didn’t quite get the hype for “Movies” for a long time but a couple months ago, when the album had been out of rotation for a good while it came up on shuffle and totally clicked for me in a way it hadn’t before. 5/5 song.

Yup agreed with Luci, tho Mirror Forever sometimes HITS

Love this:

"Got a feeling our romance doesn't stand a chance

Stand a chance to last

You threw me out of the Garden of Eden

Lift me up just to let me fall hard

Can't stand being your second best"

All of the first five proper songs are amazing so I can understand any ranking of them. “Wild Time” and “Mirror Forever” are still very good but don’t really stand up to the rest. “Picture Me Better” closes out on a slightly higher note but I think I still prefer the first five to that. If it maintained the quality of the first five throughout it’d be a 4.5 but as is it falls a tad short. Still top 10 of the year.
