Yeah, they aren't trying to convert anybody.

Their messages are pretty overt if you're at all familiar with the bible, as chan said a few pages back

Dustin's lyrics are pretty explicitly Christian if you're familiar with the theology and the lingo but he's good at doing it in a way that can be interpreted a number of ways. Like, Hold Fast Hope is literally the story of Jonah from the bible but you don't have to think of it that way whatsoever to get something out of it.

Ohhh that makes so much sense. I only deciphered the early verses and thought it was a ship sinking in a storm, then when the music slows right down it's the guy fallen into the sea, but I didn't get the big fish bit.

That's the beauty of his old lyrics ;)

No doubt. I still enjoy the post-hiatus stuff but it's definitely missing something the pre-hiatus stuff has.

I definitely remember an oblivious stone cold atheist friend thinking like moths to flame was about a generic regicide and I was like “yep sure is bud”

They are kinda trash now aren't they. I gave money to their most recent kickstarter, but I only did it to get a vintage t shirt haha. How shallow of me

Just after a quick run-through on Vheissu (just scanned random songs and listened), this definitely seems like something that could quickly grow on me. Gonna give it a proper listen later. But tbh it typically takes me 2-4 listens to really gauge if/how much I like an album.

Thanks for the recommend guys. I’m thinking I could get into this.
