I understand people not liking Metallica, but to give this album a 1.5/5 is just dumb. You're just trying too hard to be controversial here, because a score that low is Nickelback standard and this album is infinitely better than Nickelback.

I hardly ever listen to this album anymore, and I doubt I will in the future, but this was huge in shaping both metal, and my own musical taste.

Ride The Lightning is better, but I will love Metallica forever for releasing two back to back classics.

Anybody that likes my chemical romance loses and credibility for judging Metallica.

Yeah, and anyone who judges My Chemical Romance having not heard any of their stuff beyond I'm Not Okay,Welcome to the Black Parade and Teenagers (pretty much all of their radio and MTV singles, actually) doesn't get an opinion on anything.MCR are actually okay, and just because one doesn't like Metallica and likes MCR does not mean they have no credible opinions.Though giving this album 1.5/5 is absurd, giving an MCR album a 3 and not this isn't a mortal sin.

Hahaha... the vocals on this album are perfectly fine. This review is horrible, and sounds completely contrived. I love how the reviewer compares a Metallica riff to an Arch Enemy riff... if only he knew the extent of his idiocy.

My ears will disagree as soon as they finish vomiting blood.

I love how Metallica fans can't seem to handle the fact that people dislike this album so they rationalize it away by saying that only stupid people hate Metallica.

I used to brag about being better than other people, but now I see how easy it is.

and to touch on what some dude earlier said Steerpike really does have quite a shallow taste in music - i'm sure he's a perfectly intelligent individual, but it seems like he falls in love with catchy melodies and pleasant vocals too easily and doesn't really require anything more from his music - which is perfectly fine. But honestly, slinging rocks at metallica while praising my chemical romance isn't just edgy, it's flat out wrong - and yes, opinions can be wrong, anyone who thinks that every opinion is valid is a pussy whipped bitch.

Make way for the internet tough guy!

Steerpike really does have quite a shallow taste in music

Is that so?

but it seems like he falls in love with catchy melodies and pleasant vocals too easily and doesn't really require anything more from his music

You really are naive, aren't you? You should see what my driving playlist looks like.

which is perfectly fine

Lip service.

But honestly, slinging rocks at metallica while praising my chemical romance isn't just edgy, it's flat out wrong

Because apparently, Metallica need me to apologize to them for my taste in music.

Throw yourself into traffic, child. I'm in too good of a mood to deal with this. This Message Edited On 01.08.09

Steerpike, do you ever post in any other threads besides this one? Maybe you just like feeling cool from the misguided belief that you're the only person in the world who doesn't like this album.

I know it sounds crazy, but I never feel like trying anything by Metallica.
For some reason I just never feel I need to.
I even had the chance to borrow Ride the Lightning and MOP free from the library today, and I didn't.
Oh well, one of these days..........
