tbf Sing the Sorrow also brought in the mall goths to AFI too. This album just brought in even more. Girl's Not Grey got some real good Mtv airplay.





Miss Murder only gets hated on for it's popularity when in reality it's one of the songs that aged the best on here. Has a really sick bassline and for this album some of the better guitarwork and riffing. Like most people that song was my introduction to AFI too, though I found it through an old flash animation of Shadow the Hedgehog done one of the people who did stuff for Sonic Paradox/Sonic Shorts Volume. Needless to say the animation was edgy as fuck but my 10 or 11 year old ass ate that fuckin shit up.

Got heavy into this band in late middle school/early high school around the time of Crash Love. Fell in love with their back catalogue and still frequently spin all the bands work aside from all their pre-Jade work and Blood. I have tried so hard but nothing really clicks on it for me.

I skipped this back in the day because I couldn't stand Miss Murder but I started listening to it last week and now I'm kicking myself for never giving a fair shot back in the day.



I don't think I'll ever like this as much as I love Sing the Sorrow but there are some fantastic songs on here. Summer Shudder is a jam and a half.



My biggest gripe is probably the production because the vocals feel like they're mixed weird.
