I'd tell you to check Henry's Dream because it is my absolute favorite, but it is basically the opposite of this. Maybe Check Let Love In or just move backwards in his discog. If you love this, I'm sure you'd like Push the Sky Away and Dig Lazarus Dig.

Better than Tom Waits' discog?

'Better than Tom Waits' discog?'
I'd say yes, but I've never dug into Waits that much. He is a 'best-in-small-doses' artist for me, whereas I could listen to Cave for a whole day and not get tired of it. On that note, my girlfriend is the opposite and calls Cave, 'a poor man's Tom Waits.' The struggle there is neverending.

Plus, ALA, you gotta look at the number of ratings, too. Not that exposure should be totally indicative of merit, but, damn, A LOT of people are rating Radiohead for a reason. Cave is much more alienating.

'Kick her out and become a gay male stripper tbqh'
LOL, I know you are kidding, but I am a lucky man. She taught me about the foundations of black metal, loves bluegrass and calls pop punk fans pussies. We disagree a lot about music, but there is a TON of common ground in between, she is a total keeper.

@ALA He really can be that good
Although the odds of anyone vibing with it that hard across the spectrum probably ain't sooper likely.
More one of those hit me at the right place right when he needed to connect with something

PS ALA, if you haven;t heard this, start fresh, go listen to Henry's Dream so you have a different perspective to the (respective) noobs to Cave. Specifically, Papa Won't Leave You Henry, I Had a Dream, Joe, Brother, My Cup is Empty, and Jack the Ripper.

Still can't decide on a rating, but I'm not as big on it as a lot of people here. I'm happy to see the recognition. Probably a 3.5 for me so far, but I usually wait a few weeks before I commit.

Oh I see Toad. I'm spinning it now, if I'm still feeling it once I get to the end I'll bump it up 0.5.

Tom Waits is.... Tom Waits, but some of the weird loopy, meandering shit and vocal ideas/style draw some parallels.

In fact, Tom Waits should maybe be promoted from artist to 10th planet.
