I thought they were more about him not showing up to dates because it's all too much.

I wish Jonas would take on more projects, would love to hear his vocals used in other music.

Have you ever listened to his collaboration with Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief called Wisdom of Crowds?

He's also featured on the chorus of one of my favorite Swallow the Sun songs off of Hope called The Justice of Suffering.

The Justice of Suffering is a doom classic. I'll have to check out that collab too.

Saw these guys Saturday night. So good live! Great set list, with highlights including Soil Song, Leaders, July, and Serein. Glad I finally got to catch these guys live.

Out of the three Katatonia shows I've seen (and I know this is a cliché but it's true), this most recent one was the best one. They've become so much better as a live band since the last time I saw them and having Roger handle most of the backing vocals was a great move cause he compliments Jonas very nicely.

They even said that at the beginning they were not a very good act when playing live. Glad to hear they got to improve that because on record they are massive already.

Yeah, I wouldn't know about their old shows but they certainly ruled the recent one I went to.

Yep, Anders has said in the 20 year retrospective documentary on Last Fair Day Gone Night that they admit they weren't good live band (citing lack of consistent touring during their earlier days among other reasons) but that in recent years starting with TGCD and especially on the NITND tour that they felt they've become better live.
Whether or not you like their most recent albums, it's no argument that they rule live now. It's a wonderful time as a Katatonia fan to see them live cause of how tight and comfortable they are playing live.

They've matured so much, it still surprises me that this is Katatonia. So hyped to see what they'll do next, bless this line-up

The final song on their "maybe" final album was great live when I saw them

Nice, you got Passer. The songs off this I got when I saw them last year were Last Song, Serein, Serac and Old Heart Falls.
Anyway I think it was an accidental poor choice of words. They said they wanted to branch out in a proggier direction for a long while but they were only able to fully do it with the current line-up. Would be silly to stop now
