name the positives
Strong character building, physical strength, something to be proud of, experiences most people don't have, college education, health care, and serving your country among others.
Of course I'm just as against unnecessary wars (Iraq) as the next guy and I'm aware that the war experience can completely destroy a person. I also am aware that veterans don't get the kind of treatment that they do deserve.

Before giving an album review, i think its important to fully understand the lyrics of the given album.
Stinkfist:
This song is one giant metaphor and has a very deep meaning hidden behind layer after layer of intriguing and complex symbolism.
The song uses fist-fucking as a metaphor for the desensitization of society. We, as a society, do everything too much. We get tired of it, and then move on to something new. We've become "desensitized to everything", especially sex, tv, media, etc. Tool sings about digging deeper and deeper until you really actually feel something again ("I'll keep digging 'til I feel something"). The chorus moves from "finger deep" to "knuckle deep" to "elbow deep" to "shoulder deep". These lyrics are great. They're progressive; you can picture digging deeper and deeper when you listen to the song. The metaphor is perfect, too. It fits in with how we are desensitized to sex because of too much of it. What happens when you have sex too much? 1 finger, 2 fingers, 3, 4, and then a fist. And you keep digging deeper.
Basically, society is desensitized to everything, because we do everything too much. Tool is singing about digging deeper to feel something again.
I wont point out everything i disagree with in the review, since a review is extremly subjective. Though i think it lacks on some certain objective points as lyrics interpretation.

I think everyone knows about Stinkfist's lyrics.
Thought it was about some whore Maynard picked up while vacationing in Mexico with three Italians and a goat.
