I agree with that. Halfaxa still has some of her best on it though.

i can only speak for myself but im not saying the voice itself is ugly or that i expect beauty or anything like that.
i just prefer her more conventional singing is all. and by prefer i mean i really fucking love it, so it's just disappointment/annoyance on my part that she doesn't use it as much as i would have liked

Are you really wondering why people are saying negative things about a sound they find ugly
like I don't agree with them about her voice, but is that somehow not an understandable thing to do

"but could there be a reason she's employing it? beyond pure entertainment, beyond getting you to like it. this is a fascinating album about the climate for discourse in pop culture right now. some distinctly about the kinda conversations we are having in this thread."
i guess there could, but i don't really care about any of that to be blunt. i just care about it sounding good, and to my ears her more streamlined vocals sound much better and suit the music more

Yeah I'm with key. Sure she probably has her reasons for doing it but if I don't agree with them then I don't agree. Otherwise you can write pretty much every terrible album off as quality if you can find a reason for the artist making it like it was, even if that sound to you is bad, and then you're just down the rabbit hole of over-objectivity

this album has her most conventional singing in her career by far. this is like straight pop

i mean i just wanna hear her superb vocal melodies on simple pop songs like Go or Flesh Without Blood. her other stuff is cool, but i just really prefer those kinda songs
and yeah it definitely is klap, but she still retains some of her old sensibilities. which is cool, but a shame for me, i was hoping she would fully cross over to the dark side

The surface is a 'pop' album, the heart and soul is a dance album or electronica or whatever you fuckers call it nowadays.

you'll have to forgive me for not caring about the climate for discourse in popular culture while im blasting Flesh Without Blood in my car

Pop music is dance
Part of me thinks this only deserves a 1.5 but the song I like from here is really good so I'm giving it a two. But honestly I wish I had staff powers to give this a 1.7. It's not good enough for the 2 but not bad enough for the 1.5

no. dance music is a descriptor that can be applied to many different genres.
