Does the band have any intentions of making a follow up record to this?
|
| |
i hope so, this was so good and i would love to see how they would tweak their sound (if at all, they really don't need to)

New Fightstar a way off unfortunately. Charlie currently working on 4th solo album, Alex and Dan making Gunship 3rd album and Omar away in movies / commercials.

artwork on this aint too shabby either

Oh I love the artwork so much.
It’s weird incomplete Dive comes off. It’s wildly gorgeous and an unexpected note to end the album on, but it ends with a flat whimper. The final tracks in general both final like they could have benefitted with longer runtimes which I don’t say often.

Grand Unification is my favourite from them, by a lot

GU is easily their best imo, but this stomps out everything else in their discography.

I like all their discog but this for me is their best because it feels the most cohesive i suppose
|
| |
Huh, checking my last.fm, I forgot this existed for 3 years. This is surprisingly consistent and well written.

So how these guys write vocal melodies in some songs and the hard-rockish way they deliver it reminds me a lot of the best of Big Wreck. I don't think they ever made it big in the USA, but in Canada their song "That Song" was HUGE for a years and hasn't left the radio since 1998.
Ending of Overdrive's vocals then make me think of Funeral For a Friend.
man this is better than I remember
"More Human Than Human" is still the weak momentum-killer I remember it being and it sounds like a B-side Gunship track.
