I don't mind this. It's OK but I really expected more. When a band goes down the 'U2 Sounding' route it never really pays off..

"Doomed and Happy Song are my two favorites on this bitch. What You Need is pretty good too but the middle part is fucking cringe"

A solid 3. Obviously not the album of the year, but I like the progression they made musically and it's surprisingly enjoyable for a Bring Me The Horizon album. Blasphemy and Doomed are my favourites, they're really catchy and the lyrics are almost interesting. In my opinion they really made a hella lot of progress since their first albums... and what a shame because they used to be a band I loved to hate.

yea Blasphemy is pretty good too
if Oli threw a couple screams here and there over this album it would be a solid 4 for me.

Now I'm thinking of a Baker Street and BMTH crossover and my mind commited suicide.
|

Call them money hungry, sellouts, whatever - this album is INCREDIBLE
And I've been listening to them since a little before Suicide Season came out.
I'm sorry, but as a long time fan, I don't need them to continue screaming - I appreciate them changing their sound - perhaps this is the sound that they should have come out of the gates with 10 years ago.
2 thumbs up for That's the Spirit...genius work and a modern day classic
8.5/10

YES
Why is it bad?
Cause it's catchy?
Cause they changed their sound?
Cause it's actually better written than Sempiternal? That album had the most oblique, vague lyrics. boring
Sorry, wake up to the changing times - this album kicks so much ass!
I hoped for change and I got it, baby
Best album of '15

Catchy =/= good. It's poorly written lyrically and musically for the most part.

Everybody wants to go to Heaven
But nobody wants to die
I can't fear death, no longer
I've died a thousand times
Why explore the universe
When we don't know ourselves?
There's an emptiness inside our heads
That no one dares to dwell
That little kiss you stole
It held my heart and soul
And like a deer in the headlights I meet my fate
Don't try to fight the storm
You'll tumble overboard
Tides will bring me back to you

This album is good. It's actually very good - lyrically, musically, and technically. Can't wait to see them play some new tunes in concert.
