From what I read most of us in this thread would never be able to enjoy and discover as much music in japan as we would wherever we live rn. A CD costs 30 bucks with little to no possibility for discounts, no retail possibility, low presence in the digital sphere and the market is sustained by obsessive collectors towards a handful of ultra popular bands who buy the same record 3 times just for a different probably ugly as shit artwork .
Not to mention Vinyl format seems to be non existent

| |
To discover it ain't hard, buying it is another matter.
|
| |
It also seems like it'd be way harder for bands from less trending genres to exist in such a market. Are there popular plateforms like bandcamp that can allow a band to share their stuff without having to pass through a physical release? Are independant labels a thing there as much as they can be in Europe or Us?
|
| |
As far as I'm aware of no, they rely far more on connections and live shows

Getting a lot of music out of Japan is nigh impossible if youre on the english side of the web. I literally have to have a friend who knows Japanese look around for links to the albums I'm trying to get lol.

nah fam, it ain't that hard. just learn key words and have a basic knowledge of website layouts and you're fine 96% of the time.

you sound dumb as fuck right now.
and as far as the less trending genres thing goes it is immediately apparent that that is not true considering how even japans most mainstream music ranges from pop to metal to noise to folk and they like to blur the lines between genres. if anything japanese people are more open minded to that kind of experimentalism in their music, and encourage it.

just because their baseline is different doesnt mean they experiment with it

yeah tree everyone knows you force yourself to be contrarian in every situation possible but the fact of the matter is just because you can type autistic sentences on the internet doesn't mean you can back your shit up and if the last 6 years of your presence here have indicated anything its that you are indeed incapable of supporting a single thing you've ever said in your entire life.
|
| |
hence why no one has conversations with you and you have no friends.

Such a brutal putdown damn.
