in advance to what?! a new album?

in advance to a single. I remember L'arc-en-Ciel pulled similar shit last year announcing a single 4 months ahead. There were even like 10 second teasers for the song and shit and they played it live so everyone had already heard it, it's so weird

Yeah, Japanese industry still puts a lot of emphasis on singles and hyping them.

Yeah it's a kinda dumb and so many bands don't make their singles worth buying. However Diru have gone above and beyond in that regard in it including exclusive content and incredible packaging in the limited editions making them worth buying, as you should.

Well, they have a certain label support that many bands don't.

That's also true, pretty much any band (which is very few) I've seen do this is on a major label.

Agreed. I'm still debating whether I should preorder the new single though, because from the description it sounds like they've gone back to maxi packaging, rather than the big boxes you got with the last release.

Aww I loved the big boxes :[
The quality of the single and the live show with it determines whether I'll buy it.

"in advance to a single."
Yeah, duh. My bad, 'twas kinda late and lazy reading on my part.
Anyways, album still rules and I can probably wait some time before a new one drops.

"New album will probably be late 2017/early 2018."
That's my impression too. Regarding the absence of the more frequent brutality from earlier albums on this album, there COULD have been a few more spots but in the end it doesn't really matter because it's the most melodic album they've done. And they have remarkable melodies, so what's not to like.

I was actually really disappointed with the lack of heavier songs the first few times I jammed this considering that's why I got into them. Most of these songs have bad ass riffs even when it's not outwardly "heavy".

I got into them through DSS, yet loved every mellower part of this from the start.

I still haven't listened to them outside of Oroborus, Dum Spiro Spero and this.

They're their best anyway, so it's all good.
