Both are awesome, hard to beat Cornell when he goes IN tho!

You could argue Staley was better than both of them.

I love all 3 vocalists including Cobain as well, they all had their sweet little niche.

"When Eddie appears on hunger strike he blows Chris out of the water."

You got this backwards, Cornell's part of Hunger Strike is even better it's supposed to be Vedder's song haha, same goes for Wooden Jesus

Staley brings the most unique experience, but I'd say Cornell's vocals are the most impressive. Vedder just kind of sounds drunk and muffled...

I saw them live yesterday at Miami

and he wasn't sounding drunk or muffled, he was clear and steady almost throughout

Cornell is a good fella, though. He sings a mighty good tune.

Eddie's voice is more unique, the personality comes across - Cornell is just Mr Great Rock Singer which is fine but I never feel I get much beyond that

So unique that half of the post-grunge scene sounds similar

I find Vedder gets a bit grating after a while, especially on later albums where he sings in more of a growl.

I just hate how it's impossible to understand half of what he sings, like Nirvana's like that too sometimes, but with Pearl Jam it's like almost constant.

Imitation is the sincerest form and all that...

He has his devotees I guess, none quite match him

Cornell is more a student of classic rock himself so less the innovator

so you're more vocally focused than musically focused on music huh ars. lyrics aren't everything.

While I can't completely disagree with this, Down on the Upside took some pretty big risks that defy this (which is one of the reasons why it's my favorite, though there's others)

No, I focus on both, musically Ten is really good (if the music were average I'd probably have this 2'd) but even then the music of Soundgarden and AiC is still more my thing I don't know
