That is... definitely an unexpected take

For me it's at the heart of what makes this album special - out of all the rambling arrangements on offer here, that of "Film" is possibly the most repetitive, but also the most beautiful, and those two qualities combine to make it a hypnotic song.

Yeah exactly. It's a bit different than the rest, more introspective or something. Immediately grabbed me.

It’s propped up because yes the lyrics are good but the arrangement is pretty boring to me. In fact giving it a 4 is probably too generous. In a weird way I think the half-singing works the worst there, I’d almost rather it be actual spoken word.

Well, if you count live performances/live albums you 100% can’t say that

I am really feeling this album right now since a boy who went to school with me died yesterday. The last time we spoke was probably like two years ago, but I think about when we had lunch together and then I listen to Mark Kozelek's stories, and I get the weird impression that all of our past memories and experiences are floating around somewhere... Not that I'm religious or anything, but somehow this makes me feel closer to Mark and to people who listen to this album, as if we're all connected.

I love you all guys, you're doing great!

I never intercede in this stuff but I know the one who was 19 and I'm, yknow, fairly usre she's not lying. I've made snide comments with that knowledge about kozelek before on the internet but now that it's out I guess I should express my actual support
