Yes, I’m aware it’s not a conventional nu-metal song. I’m not deliberately being picky, but you talk power ballads and you’re immediately on some Tina Turner or Bon Jovi throw your hands up and yell shit, hence the addition of ‘power’ to the genre label.
It’s just standard mellowed out pop rock really - it’s hardly a rock song at all, but I wouldn’t go so far to say 100% pop either, but the elements for both are clearly there.

Google ‘power ballad’ and tell me what you see - big choruses, guitar solos, emotional lyrics usually about love, lots of showing off vocal range.
