this and especially dealer if anything reminds me of indies usual hallmarks more than nmg does, nmg just kinda does whatever it wants and swings for what their grand vision of art music would look like. by no means a one and done first listen kind of deal though
i really wanted self titled to be the album people said it was, and its highlights are definitely brilliant, but its such a minefield for me lmao. probably as consistent an album as dealer is, just do not think either album is greater than the sum of its parts

Self-Titled and NMG are an entire league above the band's other work

the best closing Foxing song is right here, it's Quietus. Nothing else even comes close.
Three On A Match is a zzz nyquil tune. Lambert is only good for about 20 seconds. Speak With the Dead requires me to get through the rest of that album to hear which lmao I'm not doing. And self-titled WOULD have the perfect ending with Hall of Frozen Heads but instead they kneecapped themselves by throwing on Cry Baby which is absolutely wretched right at the close. Quietus wins.

lol if anything quietus is only good for 20 seconds and the whole song is redeemed by the section towards the middle w the hella vocal layering throughout it. kinda useless song otherwise
fair point about speak with the dead losing points due to having to sit through ddtm to get to it tho, and absolutely agree re: hall of frozen heads / cry baby

it was the first song i ever heard them play live and i thought that was the boldest thing to open a show with. whether i knew it at the time or not, i think that's what did it

My ranking is a bit different:
SWTD > Quietus > Lambert > Three on a Match > Cry Baby
SWTD is def a top 5 song for them, Yoni bias aside

Those damn bees keep biting me. I need a medic. Song drops aside. I should look if "OLD SONGS" are on here. Heh does anyone like Den Mother? Here I am saying it is a good song.

I mean foxing have never had a bad song and I’ll die on that hill.
I respect the hell out of saying that Three on a Match is their best song tho because some of my favorite tracks of theirs are probably pretty left field picks for a lot of folks.
But guys… Gratitude

And ya Den Mother is great but probably lower tier for me. Rory, Medic, Dead Bee 1, Inuit, Bloodhound are all prob better for me.

Foxing has a bad song on "Nearer my God" Crown Candy is awful. I do feel bad, that I still haven't been patient enough to absorb their albums after that. I do like songs here or there.

She says you don’t love me you just love sex
that lyric has always hit me pretty hard, now being on the receiving end makes me feel even worse. Lifetime stats, I’ve been pretty shitty to the women I’ve dated and now that I finally found the one I love that’s all she’s interested in. I dont believe in karma but damn I guess I’m really getting what I deserve. After The Medic and Rory hit like a ton of fucking bricks right now. Think I might get day drunk and listen to foxing all day
Sorry for airing fucking dirty laundry I just got shit to say and no one to say it to.
