'The concept makes sense if you did not bury that 12 yo old kid inside your soul'
yeah this isnt the bit i have an issue with, it's more it just sounds so damn strange being sung by a grown man that it makes it so much harder to immerse myself in such a concept

You cant blame anyone for liking them purely because of instrumentation. Those guys are really good with their musical equipment. What i like more than anything about PT, is their ability to play good anything they are about to unleash. Be it something proggy, mellow or fast paced, everything is played with such skill, leaves me in trance every time i jam them.

''The concept makes sense if you did not bury that 12 yo old kid inside your soul''
This. Apart from that, the lyrics may be goofy and immature, but not always bad. One of my favourite PT lines is on Way Out of Here ''And I'm trying to forget you, and I know that I will. In a thousand years, or maybe a week.'' Oh, the frail human bonding...

I personally think it works best when he's not talking in 1st person, like the ending of t/t.
'You don't try to be liked, you don't mind. You feel no sun, you steal the gun to kill time'

Way Out of Here's chorus is great.

T/t of blank planet is a fucking laugh, so many horrible one-liners going on in that one.

"He's in a band, they sound like Pearl Jam
Their clothes are all black
The music is crap"
lol
Yeah the t/t is pretty bad overall. Even musically, it's not very interesting.

I always thought that when the lyrics speak about x-box, mother and father they were satyrical and intentionally hyperbolic. As for the SW lyrics in general, I think I can get along just because he doesn't write in a poetic prose, but in a more everyday style, conveying a sense of communication.

Ha, because of the well known band, and due to the greek grammar, I always make that mistake....
Besides, the word ''satirical'' derives from the satyr...

"I always thought that when the lyrics speak about x-box, mother and father they were satyrical and intentionally hyperbolic."
obviously none of us can say for sure if that's the case, but it's even in the way he says those lines, it's just so embarrassingly bad lol.

@Daniel Oh, c'mon, sounds like you want to hate the song.
@Porcupine Was referring too much to the etymology, as much I wanted to point out the spelling similarity.

If it's not the lyrics, then it's the singing. And it's ''so embarrassingly bad''....That's a bit harsh, now, ain't it?

I think his lyrics are fine on here actually. He's capable of some good stuff here and there
