I'm aware they used other tunings on this as well. That's cool that they decided to do other tunings, that's pretty normal thing for a band to do, almost never in metalcore for whatever reason though.

Though the only "new" tuning I know of on this is drop B for Fault Line. And idk any of the other ones. I wonder if there are any standard tunings

There's drop B flat on one of the songs. I think Count it all as Lost

Yeah I could tell that one was lower. I like drop c and drop a# on my 6's

Yeah that's the thing, most core bands either stick to a drop tuning or a dropped standardized tuning.

That's the thing with Btbam, I wish they'd try other tunings but I don't think they wanna go lower, I don't think they'll ever use a dropped d type tuning, they hate those as far as I know, and anything like an open tuning or weird tuning would be difficult for them to work with throughout even a whole song.

I just think everyone should play in all fourths

Robert Fripp plays in a tuning that approximates all 5th's. He thinks it is the truly proper tuning, it's even called New Standard Tuning now. He makes all his students use it.

Mhmm. 4ths is better though. Easier to make chords with 2nd and 3rd intervals. Plus it doesn't call for weird string gauges.

Then you're breaking some new ground here. I've always thought about that myself, not being able to play 2nd and 3rd intervals on other strings with a chord. It makes the guitar seem really limited as compared to piano. That is cool Chuck, I'll have to try that sometime.

I would contribute to the conversation but I don't know anything about tuning or drops. I feel so ashamed ...

And yeah Wack 2nds are a little tough in chords. But not impossible. Just gotta stretch your hand haha

I always make do and figure things out. I can usually do everything I need between standard C and dropped B. They both have their advantages and I make up sweet unique chords with both. I try to use the guitar's natural arrangement and tunings to my advantage.

Yeah my biggest thing about disliking standard tunings is that I use a lot of triads that I like to move around the neck for different uses and all my shapes get fucked because of the third between the 2nd and 3rd strings. So I got rid of it lol

That's cool man, gotta do what you need in order to be able to create the music you want to create. And yeah if you're ever near Pennsylvania I'd be down to start a band or just jam.

I simply dislike what this band falls back to for their meat of choice. I can like fast paced,
technical metalcore, but not when all I hear is a bunch of notes that have no impact on me other than
making me think "wow this is fast."

There are a lot of badass moments of course. I may be swayed to a 4/4.5 with time but I don't see it
at the moment.

Gonna be honest here. I think I am starting to grow out of the metalcore scene, besides a few bands.
Right now I don't really know what I like besides those few albums I keep in my heart.
