Man this album is so nostalgic for me. I'm listening to this right now and it's so fucking good, reminds me of 3-4 years ago when
I thought these guys were the best ever. Hands down best metalcore album ever though imo.
Also
This album has some decent instrumentation, but the thing that brings this down are the awful vocals and filler like
"Second Heart Beat" and "I Won't See You Tonight Part 2"

There is a reason this album was rated so highly, and apparently avenged sevenfold missed the memo. It's so sad to see them where they are now. I can understand having to change their sound (their vocalist damaged his vocal chords permanently, so instead of quitting he learned a new style, I can respect that), but after city of evil came an onslaught of mediocre material that only showed glimpses of their former originality and enthusiasm for guitar oriented metal. I would love to see a waking the fallen pt. 2 or city of evil pt.2 with his new vocal style, but unfortunately were getting a cluster**** of random crap that is as successful as it is terrible.
