the boys came through town last night on a headlining tour finally so I got to hear some good old stuff live for the first time in a long time. Blacken the Cursed Sun and Resolution both slayed, but getting 11th hour again made me so happy. GOAT song.

Blood Junkie, Vigil, and the title track almost make me want to give this a 3, but most the record is just outright boring sadly. Still, Vigil is a really great track and most the lyrics here are interesting from Randy

Eh, I prefer the two that followed it, and Resolution especially. I get why people like this. Would I be right in thinking there's nostalgia attached to that 5?

"Oh wow, well to each their own aha - I've literally never heard that opinion before" To be fair, I'm pretty sure Ashes is overall their most popular album, but I'm willing to be shown to be wrong haha

Ashes is almost equal to this, but I think this edges it out a bit

I was moreso referring to Resolution over Palaces

"I was moreso referring to Resolution over Palaces" Oh, I see. Yeah, that is a pretty odd opinion, but I always loved some of the sludgier riffs on Resolution : )

Ashes is way overhyped imo, hasn't aged very well

"Ashes is way overhyped imo, hasn't aged very well "

Listened to it again yesterday, it's aged surprisingly well to me personally.

these days I find myself listening more to Palaces (#1) and NAG. some ferocious riffs on those albums. Ashes is still super solid, got some killer tunes. Sacrament and onward I rarely listen to but can dig out of 14 year old me nostalgia. They just started becoming a bit too streamlined, feel like they lost some edge. And I don't think I've listened to anything new since Chris left
