I agree with you. Radiohead haven't responded to the rumor even after their own record label posted something about it. To me that's a pretty clear indication of some validity. Plus, they must know that if it's not true, they are going to have to make that clear at some point. I don't think they would stay silent this long if that were the case... doing so would piss off a lot of their fans and make them look kind of foolish. So yeah I'm with you that there's going to be more of the release but if there isn't, I'm still not disappointed with this at all.

Well yeah, this to an extent but this is Radiohead, and I doubt they really care

I had a dream that Yorke serenaded me and a few other fans with new tracks. Prophet shit, watch. New music coming soon.

To be honest I see this being b-sides more than a first half of an album.

There is more evidence that points to yes. Although, they could have put those clues in just to troll with us even more.

I hate you Radiohead.

If you guys do some reasearch on some stuff fans have found out, it seems almost 100% that there will be more to come. A lot of it is stupid fanboy speculation as usual, but there's some validity in a few things.

I guess possibly the best clue to look at would be an interview with Thom (there was one with Colin too, I believe) that mentioned they were looking for a completely different way to release their new album, something pretty radical from normal releases. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a companion album, or, another album released not too long from now (sort of like "Kid A" and "Amnesiac").

I don't know why, but personally I have a feeling the "newspaper album" might have download codes/urls that may or may not be hidden that will lead to the other tracks. Again, I don't know why, but I'm assuming the "newspaper album" is a part of this "radical release" strategy.

or they could be trolling us all for funsies.

Haha yeah you have definitely a point there. I've read a few times now that Radiohead usually respond to rumors fairly quickly though, but I guess that alone doesn't really constitute substantial evidence.

I have to admit that this whole thing is pretty fucking brilliant whether it's true or not. Just the amount of speculation and attention they have been able to create simply through some suggestive lyrics and a few obscure twitter posts is pretty damn impressive. It's clearly an extremely effective way of keeping people's interest. I mean I myself have probably checked that "kingoflimbspart2" blog somewhere in the realm of 15-20 times within the past week. Even if all of this turns out to be rumor in the end... I have to say I'm kind of loving it. It's fun to be anticipating something. I can't lie to myself and say I won't be disappointed if it does turn out to be false though... but it's still brilliant either way.

Also, with respect to the "I doubt they really care"... I see the appeal of saying that. Radiohead do give off that kind of vibe what with all their complete reinventions in sound where they risk completely alienating many of their fans (Kid A?). But truth be told I think they do care... a lot. How could they not? They clearly put a ton of thought into these releases and aren't satisfied with themselves unless they catch everyone off guard and do something game-changing.

I think nothing would be worse for them than for one of their releases to go "normally." I think they thrive off of these reactions and it's exactly what they want. This whole thing is very deliberate, just as it always has been. That still doesn't prove there's more to this album, it just proves that they have succeeded yet again in achieving that special attention. But they are always trying to be one step ahead of everyone, which is why I find it hard to believe that they would let all this craziness continue for so long if it was just going to end in them saying "sorry guys." That wouldn't live up to the reputation that they have worked so hard to create and maintain.

Radiohead clearly cares A LOT. This is one of the most planned out and carefully crafted albums I have ever heard.

There is a b-side coming to this album just as there was a b-side to In Rainbows. Whether that b-side will contain a few worthwhile tracks (like kol equivalents to 'bangers and mash' , 'down is the new up' and 'last flowers') or whether they blend a track like 'these are my twisted words' into something as carefully planned as the a-side, remains to be seen.

(just threw on 'little by little' casually into a playlist already -- flows well)

When I said I doubt they care I meant that they're not going to hop on twitter or wherever and say "sorry guys, 8 tracks is all you're getting" whether that be the case or not

i dunno i'm really enjoying this record, grown quite a bit, like it has this sort of downbeat soulful vibe, but at the same time the electronics and percussion are so subtlety brilliant.
