ok, so this is the quickest I've ever seen an album explode on Sputnik.
seriously, this had, like, 10 votes when it was first reviewed.

I think this deserved the attention it got. Albums like this tend to be ignored far too often.

This was pretty powerful, but I wouldn't say it's one of the best of the year. That's just my opinion.

might 5 soon.
Every listen this grows on me, and I want to listen more. The length does not bother me at all anymore. It is definitely worth the time, imo.
... and to think i would've never known about this if it weren't for sputnik

This is excellent. This song and the album by Journal have been on my playlists lately. Although I've been on a grind binge. Still can't get into Discordance(sp) axis though.

Unlorja was a beast of a disc. Both Journal and AVL made my top 5 list, and I'm not one to really tut tut around with unsigned acts just cause. Both of these bands made standout efforts and I've been pimpin the shit out of em ever since.

Gave this album 5 listens, not really impressed I'm actually kind of disappointed. The album has the talent it needs to be amazing, just lacks the artistic direction and structure. It builds a song up and then...they ruin it by going off on a tangent that doesn't fit with the song at all then fail to close or finish on their new chosen path. It just sort of ends. these don't really feel like full songs but more or less collages of riffs and song ideas strung together.
Another thing is the vocals, you've got harsh vocals with no real definition or texture to them and they are monotonous throughout the album. Then you've got clean vocals that sound like they were ripped from an alexisonfire album...but they don't serve any purpose.
Overall this album is a great effort, definitely worth checking out but it's not a 4.5-5 by any means.
