I hope they go back to their atmospheric style on TAE but I could also be happy if they build on Fade into the Ocean.

I am kinda nervous about the upcoming album because this disappointed me having really enjoyed their two previous efforts. I hope they stray away from the style they used on this and go back to their moody sound they had on TAE. I am not saying that I want another TAE, just something less aggressive/nu metalish than what we were offered here.

Agreed on all fronts. I wonder if they were a little disappointed in this themselves & feel as if they have something to prove.

I hope so but I am also afraid they could get carried away with the fact that this album made them gain more recognition on the mainstream and expose them to a lot more fans than their previous albums. That could make them keep the sound in an attempt to get even more fans. The next album could be killer or could be another big disappointment.

"...this album made them gain more recognition on the mainstream..."
But did it really?

Wasteland and Beautiful were more effective.

Not a stupendously great first impression, but I've been fooled by them on first impressions before.

Yeah all it reminded me of were the subpar moments of last album at best. Wasn't a stunner that's for sure.

There is another much better one called knives. It sounds like TAE and Feeding the wolves had a baby. Really good track.

I do agree though. That backlash track is extremely weak to say the least. Knives is at least 50times better.

that new song should be on a RED album
edit: listened to "knives" too, and neither song is very good
|

and here i thought their new album would be better from top to bottom because they're independent now
