"he's not a technically talented rapper"
"he's still a great rapper"
"he's not a technically talented singer"
"his singing is fantastic"

surely you can see how these statements could potentially conflict with one another to some people. im just saying you should express things better, perhaps.

lol do you understand the meaning of "technically talented"?
Drake actually can be technically talented if he wanted, tbh. He's proven that a lot on Comeback Season, he's just changed his style to be more conversational I guess.

"technically talented doesnt necessarily mean good"
well, it means that you're at least good technically. you might not be the best songwriter, but thats a different conversation. Technicality is a skill that still has merit and makes a rapper more interesting to listen to than a rapper who is technically terrible. I don't see how Drake's bitch made lyrical content equates to good songwriting though. Guess it's just not for me. Only thing I see going for him is the production values.

Drake isn't enjoyable to listen to at all

that is correct

lol technicality can be a plus but it can also make the rapping really tedious because it's the hip-hop equivalent of going WEEDLYWEEDLYWEEDLY.
See: A lot of Tech N9ne songs.

I don't agree. You can be beat over the head with technicality in hip hop (complex rhyme schemes and dizzying flows) and still have it be really enjoyable
see: Elzhi - Elmatic
Tech N9ne is just polarizing cuz hes so different in the way he aurally sounds. you shouldnt really ever try comparing hip hop to "weedlyweedlyweedly" ever again

I'm not saying all rappers that are really technical are really bad, lol. I'm saying it can end up being really tedious.
and why not? It's virtually the exact same. There's a point where you can be really technically talented but still have your music feeling hollow.
anyway, if you want Drake being technically talented, then just check out Comeback Season I guess. Drake's better now that he's not going as hard because he's such an amazing songwriter and knows how to do what he's doing well.

"But to me, rather than signifying a bombastic explosion, the fireworks representing a long, drawn out stint of fame, and Thank Me Later is the ‘pretty’ fizzling out and sparkle-away disappearance to an illustrious career. Farewell, Drake."
