"Good review, but has it ever occurred to you why 1000 people have rated this 5? and that it's the 3rd best album of all time on rateyourmusic.com?"

Indeed cute

Yeah I really don't get how people can give this low ratings. With albums like this, with thousands upon thousands if not millions of people who adore it, I don't see how it's possible to call it less than good. I don't really subscribe to the idea of objectively good or bad music, but if there is an objectively good album, this is it.

Yeah scores lower than 3-3.5 confuse me for certain albums

It's hard to see why somebody wouldn't like it but whatever

But there's a difference between not liking something and thinking it's bad. If you don't like it it's not necessarily bad.

well hype can make certain people have negative reactions when they actually hear the album in question... like if I saw the 4.6, said "omg this must be the best album ever" then listened to it and it didn't completely blow me away I'd be more inclined to give it an unreasonably low rating cause it didn't live up to the hype

I mean tbh there are a lot of albums with really high averages on Sputnik that I probably wouldn't like and even think are bad, but that's largely a result of Sputnik having really niche taste in some cases. Whereas OKC is universally acclaimed

OKC is universally acclaimed by review publications but you know that the opinion of many listeners is just "well Karma Police is a tune, but I don't see why they had to get so PRETENTIOUS and why can't Thom sing anymore"

He isn't pretentious on this album but on In Rainbows if anything. I neg'd the review because I was not a fan of the writing but you are entitled to a different opinion, even if it sucks.
