Disturbed walks the fine line between hard rock and metal, I'd call them metal. And Chevelle is hardly mainstream.

I like Cold, Disturbed and Chevelle, all of them were among my first music along with the other four, Linkin Park and Korn

Oh yeah, I forgot to add the group that pretty much got me into music in general: 3 Doors Down.

^shit yeah. although they have gotten exponentially worse with time, the days of kryptonite, here without you, and away from the sun were among my finest experiences in introductory rock

ha i skipped over the 3 doors down phase. at that time i was stealing my sisters cd of bowling for soup - drunk enough to dance and rocking the fuck out to girl all the bad guys want. then she brought home "we are not alone"

It's Not My Time from their last album was my favorite song for a long time, other than that I agree, their old days were better.

citizen soldier was my favorite song from their latest album, even if it was used in an army recruitment ad

The lyrics just really caught me when I heard it, and it's still a favorite of mine. I liked the first 3-4 songs on the new album, then it got boring. The other song I've always loved of theirs was When I'm Gone. Kryptonite probably fell around 3rd favorite for me.

I'm going to leave the thread by once again emphasizing that the Foo Fighters are probably the best radio rock band. maybe 2nd to shinedown, maaybe

See DaveyBoy, sometimes we do discuss music in your threads. But don't get used to it.

Chevelle is pretty darn mainstream. Jars got WAY overplayed, and The Red, Send the Pain Below, and Closure still get a lot of play.

My list stands. Saying 3DG or Seether is better than any of those four is a little blasphemous.

I dunno, they just don't strike me as that mainstream, even with their radio hits. I could be wrong.

And Disturbed's last two albums beat anything by Seether or TDG imo, I just don't consider them rock.
