Acey you're a genius. Frances (heyseuss) was being sarcastic towards you. Mudvaynian commented on that. Wow.
Actually, I think I'm going t do it. Nirvana > Metallica.

Meh, Kurt Cobain was a good song writer, but lacked quality in virtually all other fields (vocals, instrumentation). So, while the songwriting may be on par with Metallica I think Metallica would win in pertty much every other category, but that's just me. Bron is entitled to his opinion guys, so let's not give him too much grief.
Bronathan dearest, if you have the time go skim through my Megadeth review would you?

Agreed, though I rather like his vocals sometimes. Sometimes they suck. But honestly from what I've seen/heard, Kurt was more on top of the game with vocals than James.
So, while the songwriting may be on par with Metallica
This is false. They are ABOVE Metallica with songwriting. Far, far above. Metallica is better with technicality and such, but showing off really that only takes you so far when your goal is to entertain.

Depends what era of Metallica you're talking about IMO.

I disagree, but am not in the mood to debate, so I'll just throw a meaningless cliche out there. Different strokes for different folks.

Kurt was good... not great. The 'semi-god' he's become is still amazing to me as to why since he isn't above... nore even that extraordinary. I like Nirvana, but to me the reason they hold him to such high regards or esteem is still lost to me. I bet someone will post "the same could go for Metallica," and that is true seeing as Metallica has become an extraordinarily mega popular band, and as far as to say some think they are overrated. I guess it's who you ask since I think Metallica are the best.
Still, I don't think Kurt's lyrics were better than what James' has written. Kurt spoke metaphorically but most was melancholy and bland as for James's has diversity in his lyrics ranging from whatever they found in the Bible to books that have inspired them. I bet I've left myself open to harsh comments about how stupid or how much of a douche or whatever but meh, f*** it. I've said what I've wanted to say.

I'm a Nirvana fan, I admit it. However, I am being completely neutral in my analysis when I say Kurt was a far superior lyricist than James ever was/will be.

I donno about that one. A lot of Kurts lyrics made no sense. Like for example in Nirvana's most popular track "Smells Like Ten Spirity"
A mulato
An albino
A mosquito
My Labito
Yeah!
That's just not good.

You really need to look deeper in Kurts lyrics, especially in In Utero before you make accusations on his lyrics.

Wasn't Cobain the main songwriter for Nirvana? James almost always collabs with Lars on lyrics with Kirk mumbling in the corner. Besides, the finished product Mehtallica puts out is not up to par with Nirvana's stuff. Somebody shoot me down, here.
