Oh, and for people who don't get the comparisons, listen to the part in Exit Music (for a film) that goes "You can laugh, a spineless laugh, we hope your rules and wisdom choke you...", then listen to a Muse song... They pretty much directly copied that sound.

I've had this album for about a month now, and after a few listens here and there, I decided to listen through it tonight. After it was over I was in chills. True masterpiece. If you don't love it at first, give it time.

there is no way anyone in Muse is better then anyone in Radiohead. Muse are fun but not really that great.

Radiohead is pretty much the definition of grower band for me...

That's surprising to me to be honest with you. I listened to this and OK Computer and I didn't really "get it". Then I listened to The Bends and In Rainbows and really enjoyed them. Came back to OK and Kid A and loved them, then branched out to Amnesiac.

Hail to the Thief falls in somewhere around listening to Bends and Rainbows, but I'm really still not that impressed by it.

I'm with you on that first sentence musicaddiction. Actually had no idea what to think about Kid A at first.

Fair enough, I can see how that would be the case with Kid A (less so with OK Computer but I still think that's a 4-4.5 instead of a 5) - it's just the first time I listened to this was almost a religious experience and every time since has hit me basically just as hard.

Ya know, it WAS my first experience with Radiohead ever. Had never heard any of their songs, just what other people said about their albums so I had absolutely no idea what to expect coming out of my speakers. So idk, maybe my brain was just overloaded lol. Shiz happens. It's still one of my top 5 favorite albums ever though. If you haven't heard the live versions from the Collector's Edition and you like this album a lot, you should seek them out they're almost better than the album imo.

This is one of those records I'm really not sure I want to mess with, but thanks.

Kid A upsets me, because in my dreams of listening to perfect records, they still don't beat it.

Thinking about giving this a 5.
