Show No Mercy is leaner and meaner than most thrash debut's, but I don't dig it as much as other people. It's primitive thrash that didn't sound much different than other albums of the time.

Show No Mercy is great especially for a debut, but Hell Awaits shows Slayer's sound fully developed plus the production gives a truly otherworld-like atmospehe to the songs.
