Listened to this album in full for the first time since early 2010 (I think), and it was essentially one long flashback that left me a hair away from an emotional breakdown. It was insane, but this album is nothing short of beautiful nonetheless.

Yea it's definitely beautiful. In terms of more simplistic post rock, I definitely prefer GIAA though.

Going to see them in May. Mesmerizing live show. Bringing a cute friend of mine. Maybe EitS will make her love me.

Damn, that seems way more pathetic when it's typed out. I'll probably ask her out before then. But then I'll probably need to find someone else to go with me.

"Maybe EitS will make her love me."

It does sound a bit ridiculous, but in a romantic kind of way. Good luck with your friend bud.

New album has shorter song lengths and the single sounded promising so I'm pretty excited

Yeah, I'm definitely excited for the new album. The soundtracks haven't been that great, IMO.

I still respect these guys, but I really haven't appreciated anything they've done since All of a Sudden.

Yea they kinda do the same thing over and over again so I understand that sentiment. Bands like Mono and God Is An Astronaut do the more simplistic style better but the new track foreshadows a bit of a change so I'm stoked.

Yeah, I think the album/song structure might be a little more concise. That might not be a bad thing.

Magnus' interview is what ultimately convinced me to check it. Will put it on my weekend list.

explosions in the sky just can't get my attention for any long periods of time and i found this album quite boring they seem to have a huge following
I would recommend listening to the band Jakob they are insanely good and very unknown for the most part in post rock. Cale drew, subsets of sets, solace and sines are really strong cds
