"Sign of the times... Chaos AD came out when groove and grunge became more prominent in the heavy party scene."

Yeah, it's just a shame that none of it is well-written either.

Haven't heard much Soulfly to comment.

Lol yeah they had some pretty fun moments, but then again I also got into them when I was a nu-metal kid so I don't know how much I'd like them if I heard them today for the first time.

Is Soulfly like a lot of Sepultura's mid period work as well?

Aha yeah I think I got into them around the time their first album dropped. Casavir would absolutely adore "Bleed" with Fred Durst.

@Casasvir - They're basically like a super experimental, progressive jazz band except they're nothing like that at all.

Nah they're like Sepultura if they were nu-metal. Their later albums are kind of watered down thrash metal but occasionally fun.

I mean, I'm sure people will and have complimented Max for branching out but when both Schizophernia and this prove to be the most consistently compelling work he's participated in, it hardly matters.

I enjoyed Chaos quite a bit and even some of Roots, but haven't listened to them or Cavalera's other projects after that.

I would pay to see Casavir's reaction to that Fred Durst verse in Bleed, though

This song is proof that even a global cataclysm could still be made worse by Fred Durst rapping over it.

Better than Bleed by Meshuggah, which is an obvious rip off of that song

I don't want to die before seeing sepultura reunited again, they should have break up after Max left. I find it offensive, sepultura represented Brazil in an international context now it's an hybrid between an African American singer and the others I don't even know if they are from Brazil.

Even in soulfly Max still sings some songs in Portuguese.
