After 100's of listens, this never gets old. Probably one of my favourite albums of all time.

This album is where they started to lean more toward the black metal side rather than the folk side, which is why I don't care for it (and the albums that followed it) as much as their earlier work.

It's nice to see a band progress towards a heavier sound rather than a softer one later in their career though. Going from more universally acceptable to risque is something that you rarely see in any industry.

I agree, the inverse is more common: gathering, katatonia, ulver, anathema.
Although these guys have always had dashes of black metal tbh.

Hmmm this one is slowly overtaking Verisakeet as my favourite Moonsorrow

both are (genre) classics so no issue there

I'm gonna get some flak for this, but I think this is much more interesting and enjoyable than Verisakeet. I just love how this one builds up so much, it really works with their sound, and they nail it so well.

The build-up is indeed spectacular, and not a single minute feels wasted on both songs. I´ll probably settle on this one and Verisakeet as both 6/5s

I keep going back and forth, this was my favourite last time I checked but Verisakeet was closing the gap. I’ll have to revisit.

I’m on the Tuleen Ajettu Maa camp, but both tracks are brilliant

I thought most people like the first part a bit better.

Second part is just a liiiiitle bit less coherent. But the finale is breathtaking.

First track is slightly better overall but the ending of the second one is the greatest thing Moonsorrow has ever done.
Probably the most moving 5 or so minutes of metal I've experienced.

still the most atmospheric intro to any album ever

Only got around to this album yesterday, great stuff

This is still literally breathtaking despite 100+ listenings. Imo the most consistent band of all times.

I always listen to Moonsorrow like twice fucking love them then forget of their existence for like a year lol
Yeah this is wildly cathartic
