Also, the guitar tone in March of the Fire Ants is some next-level shit. I love how Mastodon don't have to rely on any gimmicky synths or strings because the guitars themselves sound so fucking monolithic

i'm not sure what they were using in 2002, ultimately i just mean that british mid-range crunch sound typified by marshall heads. in any case i think orange amps do chase that british crunch
edit: after a quick google search, looks like remission ran on marshall JCMs and JMPs.
