Fantastic album. Man, I burned the hell out of my Dude Ranch CD when it came out (was 15/16). Really, really speaks to that time in life.



My favorites are still s/t and Dogs Eating Dogs, but this would be next.

Most overrated blink album. Mark's lyrics and and Tom's riff are the only redeeming qualities but most of the songwriting is super sloppy lyrically. Not the worst thought, Cheshire Cat takes that title.

This one is mad overrated

It seems to me that the juvenile nature of Blink 182's tunes is a serious point of contention for serious music listeners (or connoisseurs if you will). However, you'll notice that Miles Davis's open racism doesn't dent his image, the Funkadelic are certainly not penalized for a dick joke here and there and while The Notorious B.I.G. is visited a certain amount of guff for his Scarface-esque personification only the biggest of fools would dismiss Ready to Die as uninspired rubbish. What we like about our heroes are their fatal flaws, it's nothing that the Greeks didn't figure out long long ago. So why then has Blink become this citadel of hate? Perhaps its a general backlash to MTV's move to the Real World and TRL programming that effectively killed off their 120 Minutes glory days. Perhaps it's a general frustration with old school punkers that Blink gets to make it big and no one will ever know who Necros or Naked Raygun are. Perhaps it's a simple, blanket distaste for any and all things mainstream (i.e. successful).
