Have you ever heard the Falling Into Infinity Demos? Musically, it's an awesome improvement from the album itself, but the main problem is the poor production like in every demo they've ever done. But really, it has the best songs of FII (Lines in the Sand, New Millenium, Peruvian Skies and Trial of Tears), plus a lot of good songs and the awesome Raise the Knife and the instrumental epic Metropolis Pt. 2

If there was no FII there'd be no SFAM so I'm happy with the trade off

Yeah I perfectly agree, but it's just cool to hear what FII would've been like if the band had full creative freedom

I still think this is easily better than FII

Yeah maybe, I'll have to re-jam this one, even though it's hard to listen to the whole thing at once without wanting to skip half of the songs

FII is so much better than this.

Both albums have 50% good and 50% bad so they're around the same for me

What Green said. Both albums have truly horrendous moments though

''This goes 3/8
FII is 4/11''
Yup, but don't forget that the good ones here do not by any chance equal the good ones on FII. The same goes with the bad/mediocre ones.

Constant motion is pretty good especially the bit where Portnoy and laBrie exchange vocals. Even the solo on that is good, which can't be said for most other songs on this

The best solo is on Ministry
