The argument that the NFL is rigged over these two games is asinine. Birds shitcanned the Commies and that was always going to happen with a healthy Hurts, Barkley, and with the Commies missing a starting lineman on both offense and defense. They only beat them in December because of a few key drops by the Eagles and they would have been destroyed by the run game if Hurts hadn't been injured. I don't know how beating a team by 30 something points equates to rigged lol.

And the Chiefs were just the better team last night. They know how to win close games. Kincaid doesn't come down with the ball for the Bills, Reid pulls out his offensive variations he only goes to in the playoffs to catch the other defense off guard. Then the Chiefs defense is just good as hell and always closes out. Neither of the "controversial" calls were really that controversial in my opinion. Worthy held onto the ball through the ground and it didn't really move. That's been what a catch has been for quite some time. If there was movement, I'm sure it would have been incomplete. Then that 4th down conversion... they just didn't get the yardage. If it's hard to tell through replay beyond a reasonable doubt and a bunch of bodies, then they just aren't going to reverse the call. That's how it always goes. Get another couple feet and there's no issue, they just got beat. If you have the chance to win with the ball in your hands at the end of the game and you don't get it done, it's on you. I get people are tired of the Chiefs and I would have preferred if the Bills won, but the Chiefs were just better.

And yeah, I'm not a fan of describing a team's entire season from their performance in the playoffs for the most part. I don't get how people think teams are a monolith lol, like some days you play good and some days you don't, just how normal people have good days and bad days. And sometimes teams just have an exploitable matchup or some shit like that. Playoffs literally exist because they introduce variability and therefore fan interest. People always claim the "Any Given Sunday" thing and then that goes out the windows once the playoffs start and we diagnose these teams with all this different shit. The Chiefs had quite a few games in the regular season where they were lucky. They played better these last two games and frankly, they were really lucky they had to play the Texans instead of the Chargers. And even last night they still were kind of lucky, even though I think they played a better game than the Bills.

All that being said, even tho I'm a Birds fan if you're tuning out of this Super Bowl you're a lame. Both teams have given us some pretty great Super Bowls and this should be an awesome game.

100% agree with what was said above except I don't think Worthy made the catch. The Chiefs do get a lot of calls other teams don't but I don't think that was the case last night.

"So much Eagles hatred in here."

"I don't know how beating a team by 30 something points equates to rigged lol."

i've skimmed through the last 5 pages of this thread and i cannot find anyone saying any of this about the eagles lmao

philly outscored washington something like 40-10 in the 5/8 quarters kenny pickett wasn't their starting qb in their regular season matchups. washington had a great season but yesterday's result wasn't exactly shocking.

@Alex, there's definitely plenty of Eagles hate/saltiness in here.

I'd assume suppatime's comment about the winning by 30 points being rigged is in general because I've seen tons of people on social media saying it was fixed for the Eagles, re: the fumble recovery and the personal foul hitting Saquon out of bounds (which I thought was a bit of a soft flag myself). It's just a simpleton take to say everything is scripted/rigged like these dudes aren't laying their bodies on the line every snap they play.

will also say... any complaints about the refs favoring mahomes/the chiefs last night are completed negated by their opponent being josh allen... the one guy who flops and cries for flags arguably even more than mahomes.

That ball spot placement where the Bills got turned over on downs despite actually making the first was SHAMBOLIC. It 100% won KC the game

the bills had the lead and there was 13 minutes left in the game at that point. sucks they got a bad spot but they also could've tried to play some defense in the 4th qtr too. refs give bad spots every week

I don’t think the NFL is rigged, it’s just not the result I wanted. Also as a Rams fan I am allowed to be salty about the Eagles until next season starts.

I’ve decided to root for Saquon. That’s how I can make this okay.

Josh Allen looked fucking nervous tho.

I know it’s hard to go into arrowhead but dude you have to have more poise.

That first drive was embarrassing. It sets the stage. He also threw some terrible passes

As much as I hate the chiefs. I can’t deny they looked good that game. Best I’ve seen em this season.

he started nervously but played well afterwards. I don't think Mahomes noticeably outplayed him overall. The difference was the playcalling, the respective defences and a bad drop at the worst possible time (not the refs btw, even if there were a couple of dodgy calls)

People forgetting this is a team game and that coaching actually matters will never not irk me

also maybe this is just semantics but not really understanding how the first drive "set the tone" - yes the Chiefs scored first, but then the Bills scored 10 unanswered points (and had the lead). I'd understand if it was a 'sign of things to come' and they were crumbling, but that wasn't the case

Demon you’re right. Good point.

The overall energy I got from Josh as a spectator tho was he did seem a bit scared?

Maybe I’m wrong because of course he did turn around and make some amazing plays and passes.

But you have to be impeccable as an away team QB in arrowhead. It’s probably the most difficult venue to play in for an afc championship. Nerves are real.

All that said, i totally agree with you on the play calling. Andy Reid is a gangster and knows what to run.
