To an extent yeah, but if you ever hear a band describing themselves as "experimental" you know they're a bunch of pretentious fucks.
I would think that it's obvious that "natural" or inspired experimentation is better than intended or contrived experimentation.
Sure, at the end of the it's a matter of personal preference but there's no music that I love because of its being experimental, at least not primarily so.
