''I consider pretty much all of their releases best though, ranking their albums would change weekly for me.''

True. Even Deliverance and PC, which I consider to be their weakest, sound awesome from time to time.

Those are always bottom two haha, much as I love PCs bookends and the middle run of songs on Deliverance.

After I finnish listening to the new Pineapple Thief, I'm going to jam Deliverance and clean the house.... Yes, yes, I like that plan.

Stunning drumming on Nepenthe. Axe is like a completely different drummer to the one that played on Watershed

Edit: I stand corrected. Listened to Watershed after a looong time. Axe's performance on that is really good.

I love that song, one of my favs here. I think the style change called for a difference in playing, though the drumming was pretty creative and unpredictable on Watershed as well. Just listen to that middle heavy section on Porcelain Heart when the drums go insane lol

His performance felt too stiff on Watershed. He brought out his jazzy side here. Obviously the music played a role in that, but I didn't expect him to be so good. His playing is one of the highlights of modern opeth

At least Watershed was still 'Opeth'

But it was relatively uninspired Opeth

Damn Titan, didn't expect you to make that kind of comment

This is quality. You don't know what you're talking about, Titan.

Also, Watershed was very inspired at times but admittedly very uninspired at others.

It's very good, especially for Opeth's standards.
